Our Story

Best Friends Dog School was founded out of a deep love for dogs and a simple belief: every dog deserves to feel safe, understood and genuinely happy.

Nestled on a peaceful smallholding in Pretoria East, we created more than a boarding kennel—we created a Dog Care Facility, a place where dogs can simply be dogs. A place where they can explore, play, learn, rest and build trusting relationships with people who truly care.

Our approach combines premium care with modern, force-free, choice-based training, thoughtful handling and enriching experiences, giving every dog the individual attention they deserve. Whether they’re joining us for a holiday, day care or training, our goal is always the same: to help them feel relaxed, confident and right at home.

Talitha founded Best Friends Dog School with one simple belief: every dog deserves to feel safe, understood and genuinely happy. She is passionate about helping families build happy, lifelong relationships with their best friends.

Wanda Kapp

Kennel Master & Head Instructor

Wanda brings extensive expertise in dog training, staff development and operational management. She leads our caring team while ensuring every dog enjoys a safe, comfortable and enriching stay where they can learn, grow and thrive.

Johan Etsebeth

Facilities & Operations Support

Johan looks after the facilities, grounds and our dog taxi service, ensuring every part of Best Friends is safe, welcoming and ready for each dog’s next adventure.
